This again is a fantastic rod The 10 foot xp is now out of production and corporate tackel tarts will cast these off on ebay. A lot of the time they have been seldom used. And have been replaced by the new top of the range model.
I have had this rod from new its my first choice for czech nymphing on the welsh Dee. it doubles as a dry fly rod. The 10 foot reach gives a little more control over the path of the nymphs and the xtra power of the xp blanc punches the nymphs out for distance. Its equally at home casting drys although the extra foot compaired to my beloved 9 foot rpl plus my cause problems to the novice when casting near trees.
If i was going to choose one all round rod for grayling and trout river fishing in the uk this would be it! Look out for 9-10 foot rods in four sections. weight 5 or 6 will be perfect for most needs. These rods are in my opinion simply fantastic.
.
Its again beautifully crafted and finished. Its a joy to use. I sometimes use this for light nymph work and dry fly on still waters and have landed salmon and rainbow trout over 10lbs without any problems. Its best suited for grayling and trout around the 2-5lbs mark. I can punch a dry fly line almost off the spool with this rod, although when fishing on the river this not a requirement. Again I give this 5 stars
tight line Phil

I've also the Sage 9ft 5# that I use on the Welsh Dee. I
find its a great dry fly rod. For my nymphing I use a Grays streamflex 10ft 5# weight.
