Coarse fish on the fly in the midlands

I used to "hone" my striking for the Grayling fishing on the shallow areas of the Trent or Dove fishing for Dace and Chub.Size 16 dries of pretty much any pattern would get the smaller fish rising,though the bigger Chub liked a big sedge or daddylonglegs.Took Chub to over 3lb on dries,great fun on my local river where there were few trout or grayling.
Now I live in Scotland so I'm stuck for coarse fish,I did get a nice perch on a pheasant tailed nymph on a local trout water...

Out today with the rug rats.
Lydia's age 3 fished the Pole
we had 11 fish within 90 minutes.

Roach on the fly.
After asking if I could test one the other flextec rods one arrived this morning a crx88 10 foot 5/6 mid to tip action rod.
Its was a pleasure to use but I will save the report until I have had chance to use it on the river.
Today however I thought I would kill two birds with one...

I took this cracking fish last year, It fought like the devil.
I was fishing for trout at the time.
