Had very exciting day myself on stocks fished from a boat from 11.15 until five.
Fished traditional loch style very long drifts.
Bow wave after bow waved followed and hit the sedge and traditional wets with considerable force

Fished the Tarn yesterday with my still water mentor Scratch.
A cool southerly breeze topped with intermittent heavy showers produced a few pieces of Malham tarn gold

Weather was quite warm for march 7-10 deg, moderate to light ripple. Excellent day today on the boat from 8.30 until 3.30 9 fish for me today and scratch had even more a very enjoyable day. Most fish to usual mini lures on dark colours. Scratch even had a double hook up two browns and then managed to do it again! The second double hook...

Fished Llyn Brenig last Tuesday with a mate of mine.

We fished on Tower bay from 9am to 5pm. I managed 2 fish and my mate Henry blanked. He's fished Brenig since it it opened and its very rare he dosn't get his limmit. But Tuesday he was not a happy bunny.....

Tackle. Henry was using a sink-tip line and nearly every fly in his fly box. I used a floater with a 5ft very fast...

Fished stocks 11th March with scratch still and calm four fish to open the seasons still water account all rainbows to intermediate line. Rainbows all clones 2-3lbs.
Nice to be out again. ps still awaiting some software updates so my main email account is down should have it sorted within then next week

100 % natural hard won Brown trout from a none stocked national trust lake

I blanked but Barry hooked into this cracking brown trout 3lbs 8oz weight and returned well done m8

Fished stocks with moustique today. We found it hard going but it probably down to me being crap on big still waters.
Anyway weather temp had dropped overnight morning frost on the car this morning. despite this the sun was quite warm as we approached stocks.
As we got in the boat a fish rolled in front of us I thought our luck was in as it appeared to take from the surface.

I fished the rivers of Shropshire & Powys yesterday, and had a few Grayling, and lost one trout - i did have some nice Grayling but as they are out of season they dont really count!(well the 40cms ones do!)

Today i planned another trip to the rivers, but alas the rain had put pay to it. I had to get out so i decided on a local Stillwater - Cound.

The day wasn't as forecast it was lovely all day, bar a 2min hail shower.

Warm welcome as usual when i arrived at stocks. I had booked on for half a day.
It was very Windy this morning I fished in a boat air temp 9 deg water a little colored post rain. Wind >12mph the met office had predicted more like 20mph.
I took four fish in total today! All from the east bank. 3 from the alders. One from the willows to the east of gull island. All fish rainbows all about 2lbs each taken on a black lead head lure one of moustiques....

Fished Mere beck today as the river was out of order. A little frost on the ground but sun shine from 11-3 with very little wind a very Pleasant day after the weekends weather!
6 Rainbows the best just under 3lbs. All on lures

Just to get out for a few hours

A nice plump Westlow Rainbow fell for a green lure. The 5wt Z-axis made light work of landing this fish.
I was also pretty impressed with the way the z-axis threw out...

I had forgot how nice a fishery west low fishery was. I fished it yesterday with Danny and Barry. Set minutes off the M6 near congleton in Cheshire its a crdit to its owners large its a a medium sized water with a limited amount of boats and stuffed with 1-3 lbs browns and rainbows with many larger fish cruising. Fished Woodhouse fishery in St Helens yesterday afternoon for 3 hours I had the place virtually to my self pending rain put me off the 60 mile drive to the river so I hit the fishery just to put a bend in the Rod! According to an article in the local free paper, the Grove Fishery at Backford Nr Chester is due to re open on March 1st 2007. No statement as to coarse / game status so hopefully as it was previous another trout outlet....

Fished stocks res today with Barry. Although the weather report was against us the day wasn't to bad after all.
Five fish each Barry's 5lbs the best of the day. All my fish 2.5lbs rainbows.
Fished off the boat very windy and difficult for the boat to anchor off the islands due to heavy wind.
Staff at stocks as pleasnt as always
